2008: The Rajasthan Royals secured victories in 11 out of 14 league matches to top the points table. Then, they registered a thumping victory against Delhi Daredevils in the semi-finals. In the final against Chennai Super Kings, they sealed the chase of 164 to win the inaugural IPL trophy winners.
2009: Deccan Chargers had finished last in the IPL 2008, and none backed them as they managed to seal the place in the playoffs with seven victories in 14 games. Nevertheless, the Chargers went on to win the final by six runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore to be crowned as the champions.
2010: Super Kings finished third in the points table with seven wins in 14 appearances. In the final, they met Mumbai Indians at Navi Mumbai. Suresh Raina scored a fifty and led CSK to 168. Then, Shadab Jakati took two wickets to lead the team into their maiden IPL title.
2011: The defending champions were confident to be victorious in nine out of 14 games. In the final, CSK slammed 205 against RCB, with Murali Vijay scoring 95. Thereafter, the talented spinner Ravichandran Ashwin scalped three wickets to help CSK defend their title.

Mumbai Indians have been the most successful team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with five titles to their name. They emerged victorious in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020. The next team to follow them are Chennai Super Kings with four titles, which they achieved in 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021. Kolkata Knight Riders won the IPL title in 2012 and 2014.

Women’s IPL Trophy Winners List

Riding on the popularity and form of the Indian women’s team, BCCI organized the Women’s T20 Challenge in 2018. Under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, Supernovas won a one-off game to register a title victory. Then, they emerged victorious in one of the two league matches and won the final against Velocity in 2019.
The 2020 season saw Trailblazers, captained by Smriti Mandhana, pip Supernovas win by 16 runs to lift their maiden title. In the 2022 season, Supernovas beat Velocity by four runs in a thrilling finale to be crowned as the champion.
In the 2023 season, a full-fledged Women’s IPL was staged in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. However, Hardik Pandya and Sanju Samson, captains of Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals respectively, impressed with their leadership skills in 2022.
